Cake Décor

Insite Contracts recently delivered a high-specification workspace transformation for confectionery leader OV (Cake Décor) in Cumbernauld. The dual-focus project involved modernizing the facility’s technical laboratory and repurposing two underutilized storerooms into a sophisticated executive meeting suite.

Operating within a live, fully functional environment required seamless coordination with the client, particularly Mhairi McCallum and her team, to ensure ongoing lab operations were undisrupted during the works.

Led by Brian Laidlaw, Gordon Scott, and Stewart Dunlop, the team executed a comprehensive strip-out and structural reconfiguration, forming new blockwork and timber stud openings to naturally connect the lab, meeting room, and open-plan office. The upgraded laboratory now features high-performance overclad block walls and advanced Ipso worktops to guarantee a durable, hygienic testing environment, while the new executive suite is elevated by metal-frame glass doors, fire-rated timber doors, and bespoke joinery.
