Summary

Insite Contracts recently completed a comprehensive 32,500 sq. ft. commercial fit-out on the 5th floor of Exchange Crescent, Edinburgh. Delivered on behalf of Savills, the landmark refurbishment required a full internal strip-out and extensive modernisation to prepare the expansive workspace for incoming tenants.

Led by David Stewart, Brian Laidlaw, and Guy Melville, alongside David Cowan at Savills, the team executed a complete mechanical and electrical (M&E) overhaul. This included the installation of new fan coil units integrated with the Building Management System (BMS), secondary ventilation alterations, and commissioned lighting upgrades. The architectural scope featured the comprehensive repair of all existing windows, the installation of mixed Gyproc and SAS ceiling systems, and vital fire safety enhancements, including upgraded compartmentation and the installation of BM Trada-certified fire doors.

Following targeted raised access floor replacements, a deep structural clean, and a full decoration program across all surfaces, the high-specification space was seamlessly handed over. As Insite Group Managing Director Scott McMillan noted, the project's successful delivery and the strong collaboration with Savills highlight the Contracts division's commitment to precision, safety, and quality on large-scale commercial developments.
